I stumbled across this – it brings tears to my eyes. My husband and I were friends of Axel’s for years. While he lived here in PA, he was a huge outdoors man – mainly jeeping. My husband and his brother went visit Axel in CO before he died. He so touched everyone he knew. I wanted to make a poster size picture of him climbing to surprise my husband and to hang in our home. I am going to try to do that with the picture you have above. Hopefully, I will be able to. Thank you for the post and the pictures. Write any time. To know him was to love him……
Hi, one of our cousins sent me this link. Axel really enjoyed the time he spent in CA climbing. He was so excited when pictures of him climbing were published in Climbing Magazine. I still have the copies he gave me and the 2005 calander. As I recall you took all the pictures. I’m proud of my brothers accomplishments. Thanks for all you’ve done.
